I love them!  I wish I still had my old Herculaneum photos…

The US naval base has moved from where it once was in Napoli, but the buildings are still there (I’ve seen them on Google!). If you happened to see a tall, u-shaped building, then you were next to the old naval base (that was the old school building).  Twenty minutes north, on the Via Domiziana, is Pinetamare (literally, ‘pines-by-the-sea’), but parts of the area are largely in shambles now—the apartment buildings were demolished in the late 90s I think.  That is where I spent the best years of my childhood.

I’m looking forward to seeing more photos!
